Latest issue of CASNR's 'The Agriculturist' available in print, online
The latest issue of Texas Tech's Department of Agricultural Education and Communications award-winning magazine, The Agriculturist, is off the press and online. The 46-page, student-led magazine's cover story, Large Dreams for Large Animals by Jenna Holt-Day, focuses on Tech's plans to develop a veterinary school and veterinary medicine doctoral program in response to student demand and industry needs. Other features include profiles of Brandon Lipps, chief of staff for the chancellor, and Kevin Brinkley, president and chief executive officer of the Plains Cotton Cooperative Association. This year's leadership team was directed by Hayley Magness, editor; Kayla Wilkins, associate editor; and Kelsea Jones, advertising manager. Each semester, students enroll in 'ACOM 4310: Development of Agricultural Publications,' to produce the magazine from start to finish. The course serves as a capstone where students can utilize the skills they fostered through their undergraduate coursework.
