Departmental vision and updates were in the spotlight as Texas Tech's College of Agricultural
Sciences & Natural Resources Advisory Board met in a special session prior to the
start of the university's fall academic semester. The morning session was held on
Thursday (Aug. 24) at Tech's McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center. The gathering included a welcome and introductions
by CASNR's Interim Dean Steven Fraze, a long-time professor and noted agricultural educator. The college's department
chairs then presented vision and update presentations on their individual programs.
The program ended with department and advisory board group meetings. The CASNR Advisory
Board is comprised of 21 members who represent the college's departments, along with
the college's development and alumni relations office. While members come from varied
backgrounds, all share a desire to serve the college and to further the aims and goals
of the departments. This, in turn, is expected to improve the resources available
                           to CASNR and its students.
