CASNR faculty honored for research, scholarship and creative excellence

Texas Tech University recognized faculty members from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources today (Oct. 27) during its Celebration of Faculty Excellence in Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center.
More than 50 faculty members, including six from CASNR, were celebrated for receiving professional association awards, patents or national or international appointments or fellowships. They come from many fields and backgrounds. Honored CASNR faculty members are listed below:
Texas Tech Targeted External Faculty Awards
• National Academy of Inventors Fellow: Mindy Brashears, a professor of food microbiology and food safety in the Department of Animal and
Food Sciences
• Core Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program Award: Michael Farmer, an associate professor in both Tech's Department of Natural Resources Management
and Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics
Issued Patents
• Artificial boar saliva (boar saliva analog – BSA) and boar grunts stimulate estrus behavior and reproduction in swine: John McGlone, a professor and institutional official with Texas Tech's Department of Animal and

National/International Recognition
