Name: Rachel Rush; Major: Agricultural Communications; Classification: Senior; Organization: Agri-Techsans; Hometown: Lubbock; Month: April

Rachel Rush, a senior agriculture communications major from Lubbock, has been named Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources April Agri-Techsan of the Month.
"I'm very honored to be receiving this title," Rush said. "I have a great sense of pride for my university and college, so being the outstanding Agri-Techsan is very rewarding."
Through Agri-Techsans, she's been able to enhance her communication skills and gain a deeper appreciation for Texas Tech and CASNR, she said. She said she loves inspiring Red Raiders and helping them find where their passions lie at Tech.
"I knew early on that I wanted to be involved in agriculture and that CASNR was the prime place for that," Rush said. "I chose Texas Tech because they have the number one agriculture communications program in the nation."
Rush said she enjoys the fact that she feels at home because she rarely goes anywhere on campus where she doesn't see another CASNR friend. After graduating in May, Rush will be getting married to Ross Hargrove, and move to Waxahachie, where she will begin her communications career as the marketing coordinator for Morgan Orthodontics.
Shelbey Havens, CASNR's College Recruiter, said the Agri-Techsans organization does yeoman's work in promoting the college. The Agri-Techsans are the official student recruiters for CASNR. The undergraduates can come from every department and bring with them different backgrounds from rural areas to large metropolitan areas. In addition, Agri-Techsans give tours of the college's facilities, including the horticultural gardens and the meat laboratory on campus, as well as the research farm at New Deal, and the Texas Tech Equestrian Center in southwest Lubbock.
