Julia Edrington, a senior animal science major from College Station, has been named Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources September 'Matador of the Month.
"I found it very humbling that my organization nominated me as a candidate," Edrington said. "Then, to go on to win was incredible."
Edrington said that Ag council has helped her build new friendships and given her the opportunity to give back to CASNR, as well as the Lubbock community. She selected Texas Tech because she wanted to get away from Texas A&M.
"I grew up in College Station, and was ready to try something new." she said. "I have a huge Red Raider family, so it was no surprise when I visited the campus and fell in love."
Edrington chose CASNR because it was the best fit for her to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. To Edrington, CASNR was not just a place to learn, it become her family. "I've made so many connections that I am forever grateful for, as well as the ability to learn more about what I want to do for the rest of my life," she said.
After graduation, Edrington hopes to attend vet school, and graduate with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
