Winter Welcome; Annual CASNR fete set for Jan. 24 at AFS Livestock Arena

Members of the Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center in Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources are set to launch their annual 'Winter Welcome & Queso Cook-off' on Thursday (Jan. 24) at the Animal & Food Sciences' Livestock Arena.
One of the evening's highlights will be the Mr. CASNR Contest, hosted by the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources' Ag Council, said Stephanie Legako, CASNR's Unit Manager for Student Retention. The program begins at 6 p.m. Contestants will be competing in western wear, interview and talent.
In addition the program will feature the Queso Cook-off. It begins at 5 p.m. Any CASNR student can form a team and enter the contest, but the registration deadline is Monday (Jan. 21). Legako added that queso will be available after the contest, and light refreshments will be served at the Mr. CASNR Contest. In addition, student organizations within CASNR will be represented, as well as opportunities to speak with university guests and representatives
