More than 700 students, friends, faculty and staff of Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources were on hand last night (Nov. 7) for the 92nd Annual Pig Roast at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. The Pig Roast celebrated scholarship donors, recipients and intercollegiate judging teams. In addition, the program honored three standout leaders with Gerald W. Thomas Outstanding Agriculturalist Awards. The annual outstanding agriculturalist awards recognize individuals for contributions to various areas of agriculture. This year's recipients are Brad Bouma for Agribusiness, Stanley Young for Public Service, and Craig Heinrich for Agricultural Production. Separately, several university leaders were present for the evening program, including Texas Tech President Lawrence Schovanec, and Michael Galyean, Texas Tech Provost and Senior Vice President.
