Members of the Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center in Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources will hold their annual 'Winter Welcome"' program this semester in a virtual format using the cloud-based peer-to-peer software platform, Zoom.
New this year is a trivia night which will be open to all CASNR students, faculty, staff and alumni. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday (Feb. 11), said Stephanie Legako, CASNR's Unit Manager for Student Retention.
To enter the CASNR online Trivia Night or if you have any questions, please email Legako or Claire Cleveland with your team name and the contact information for your team captain before Wednesday (Feb. 10). Teams of five to six people can compete. Trivia Night is open to all CASNR faculty, staff, students and alumni.
In addition, the annual 'Mr. CASNR Contest,' hosted by CASNR's Ag Council, is going virtual as well. This year's format involves event contestants preparing and posting a YouTube video that includes western wear, talent and an interview. The videos will then will then be compiled and reviewed by a judging panel, who will select the winner. Separately, videos will be posted for a virtual audience, who will select the 'CASNR People's Choice' winner during a voting period that runs from Feb. 11 to Feb. 18. After the tally is finalized, the winner will be announced the next day.
