Texas Tech University recognized 39 outstanding Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources faculty and staff members on Thursday (Apr. 7) with recognition of their length of service to the university community. All those honored received a service pin. The program was held in the university’s Red Raider Ballroom in the Student Union Building.

One particular long-term recipient – Leslie Thompson, a professor within the Department of Animal & Food Sciences – stood out among the Davis College crowd for three and a half decades of service to the Texas Tech community. Recent honors for Thompson include a Faculty Distinguished Leadership Award from the Texas Tech Parents Association. Her research focuses on quality, composition, and safety of foods from producer to consumer.

Another veteran of note was Brad Dabbert, the Burnett Foundation Professorship in Quail Ecology in Tech's Department of Natural Resources Management, with two and half decades of service. His research has focuses on Northern Bobwhite and Scaled Quail and their habitat relationships with a goal of expanding the range of sustainable populations.
