Research Spotlight: Dept. of Ag Education & Communication’s Fischer

Laura Fischer, an assistant professor within the Department of Agricultural Education & Communications, joined the Texas Tech faculty in 2021. The Florida native indicated that her research program broadly focuses on developing messages to communicate and inform the public about issues in agriculture and natural resources. She uses a variety of research techniques to understand how the public perceives issues in agriculture and natural resources and to understand what type of messages are the most effective for audiences.
Prior to joining the Texas Tech faculty, Fischer served as an assistant professor within the University of Kentucky's Department of Integrated Strategic Communication. Her bachelor's degree in animal science and her master's degree in agricultural education and communication are from the University of Florida. Her doctorate in agricultural communications and education is from Texas Tech.
