Davis College Advisory Board focuses on emerging issues, strategic priorities
By: Norman Martin
On another scorching hot summer day Texas Tech's Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources Advisory Board met Thursday (Aug. 17) for a half-day retreat at the university's Teaching, Learning, & Professional Development Center. The session featured an introductory presentation by Davis College Dean Clint Krehbiel.
The program was followed by a panel discussion titled, “Emerging Issues Facing Agriculture, Natural Resources & Landscapes," which included Kevin Brinkley, Ben Holland, John Duff, David Brimager and Kayla Robinson, along with moderator Bill Miller. That was followed by sessions on ‘Davis College Strategic Priorities for Research, Outreach & Engagement' along with ‘Davis College Priorities for Teaching, Workforce & Wellness.'
Krehbiel explained that the Davis College Advisory Board is comprised of 24 members who represent the college's seven departments, along with the college's development and alumni relations office. While members come from varied backgrounds, all share a desire to serve the college and to further the aims and goals of the departments, he said. This, in turn, is expected to improve the resources available to Davis College and its students.
The advisory board session coincided with the Davis College Faculty & Staff Awards Ceremony held Thursday evening (Aug. 17), followed by a Davis College Faculty Retreat the next morning, both at the McKenzie Merket Alumni Center.
