Research Spotlight: Dept. of Ag & Applied Economics’ Conrad Lyford

Conrad Lyford, a professor within the Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics, joined the Texas Tech faculty in 2001. His research broadly focuses on developing solutions in the often-interrelated fields of agribusiness, health care and development. He has worked on several topics including behavioral economics, quality, health, development and marketing.
In the US, he led or participated multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions to the obesity epidemic, COVID-19 vaccination hesitancy and prevent cancer including using social media and community approaches. His doctorate in agricultural economics is from Michigan State University. Honors include a Fulbright Award to Ghana (2022) and serving as a member of the Texas Tech Presidents Leadership Institute (2015).
