Academic Leaders in Davis College Honors Banquet Spotlight

Standout students and faculty from across Texas Tech's Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources were honored on Friday (Apr. 26) as part of its annual Honors Banquet at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center. Sponsored by the Davis College Ag Council, the annual event features a variety of honors, including selection of this year's overall Outstanding Davis College Student, Taylor Limbaugh, a senior agricultural communications major from La Grange, Texas.
Students with the highest academic achievement in their respective departments were:
- Agricultural & Applied Economics: Ema Richardson and Hannah Saunders
- Agricultural Education & Communications: Brooke Beyers, Jacey Cathey, Rachyl Kitten, Taylor Limbaugh, Cade Millenbine, Olivia Moore and Siena Rollin
- Animal & Food Sciences: Karlee Cantrell, Victoria Gonzalez, Kyle Coward, Katherine Eastep, Nichole Keeton, Shelton Luedke, Anna Snell, Elise Turner and Anna Wyle
- Landscape Architecture: Kevin Goertzen and Ivana Gonzalez
- Natural Resources Management: Grace Dean, Mackenzie Hall, Courtney Newcomb and Kylee Street
- Plant & Soil Science: Grace Taylor and Phiala Drake
Outstanding students in each discipline were:

- Davis Brimager (Farmhouse Fraternity)
- Garrett Dickson (Pre-Vet Society)
- Katie Cooley (Collegiate FFA)
- Maggie Davis (Collegiate Cattleman's Association)
- Caleb Black (Farmhouse Fraternity)
- Chris Brandon (Farmhouse Fraternity)
Separately, Ag Council leaders for the 2023-2024 were recognized. They are Chloe Krause, president; Kloe Walker, vice president; Jaraden Kearby, secretary; Hannah Alto, treasurer; and Reese Echols, reporter. The 2023-2024 Ambassadors for Agriculture officers are Valerie Gerard, president; Brooke Secor, vice president; Sydney Hall, secretary; Kollier Miller, treasurer; Kasey Dunn, scribe; along with Ag Council Representatives Jett Bradford and Joel Cavazos.
The club of the semester for Fall 2023 was Agri-Techsans, and the Farmhouse Fraternity for Spring 2024. Meanwhile, outstanding professor/instructor awards went to Sam Jackson (AFS) for Fall 2023, and Jessica Thomas (AFS) for Spring 2024. Outstanding staff members were Jerrad Hofstetter from Landscape Architecture for Fall 2023, and Ginger Orton from Agricultural Education & Communications for Spring 2024.
Carly Watson was named the Outstanding First Year Agri-Techsan, and Austin DeBerry received Outstanding Returning Agri-Techsan recognition. The 2023-2024 outstanding undergraduate researchers were Macie Lawrence for Natural Sciences and Blake Mills for Social Sciences.
