Leaving behind his legacy, B. Dan Kamp continues to enrich the lives of students at Texas Tech University, because of the impact it left on him.
Before Dans passing in August, he established the B. Dan Kamp Quality of Life Alliance with the Department of Landscape and Architecture. His mission through the alliance is to unite a community of scholars and practitioners dedicated to the advancement of Park and Recreation Administration, Land Planning, and Park Design through curriculum and programs with the Department of Landscape Architecture at Texas Tech University.
Because the Alliance recognizes the critical importance of these fields, their mission includes Dans vision and desire to cultivate excellence, build, leadership, and foster the future.
To cultivate excellence by empowering aspiring professionals through financial assistance, promoting a culture of strategic learning and research, while extending professional support to the public realm.
To build leadership by educating new generations of leaders to contribute meaningfully to the enhancement of public spaces, sustainable land use, and the overall well-being of communities.
To foster the future through education, research, and collaboration to stimulate knowledge production, innovation, and responsible stewardship of public spaces.
This Alliance will help with funding initiatives for the Department of Landscape Architecture students, faculty, and the strategic plan of the department.
