“I’m so excited to start my role at Texas Tech,” said Roberts-Hill. “I’m coming into an exceptional agricultural communications program and a department that feels like home. Growing up just south of Lubbock, I was always familiar with the university, but it now feels surreal to join the team as faculty. I’m looking forward to all the new opportunities while coming back to my agricultural community.”

Along with teaching responsibilities, she will also work to continue to build and strengthen her research program in visual literacy within agricultural communications and international agricultural development communications.

Prior to joining the Texas Tech faculty, Roberts-Hill served as an assistant professor within New Mexico State University’s Department of Agricultural & Extension Education, along with working as a photographer and graphic designer in the Las Cruces area. In addition, she worked as an instructor within Mississippi State University’s School of Human Sciences and served as a graduate research assistant with Texas A&M’s Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education & Communication.

Her bachelor's degree in agricultural media and communications is from West Texas A&M University. Her master’s degree in international agriculture is from Oklahoma State University. Roberts-Hill’s doctorate in agricultural leadership, education and communications is from Texas A&M University. In addition, she has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M.

She is a member of the Association for Communication of Excellence, Agricultural Communicators Network, American Association for Agricultural Education and the Association for International Agricultural & Extension Education.

Texas Tech’s Department of Agricultural Education & Communications has approximately 15 faculty members with 285 undergraduate students and 103 graduate students. Faculty members within the department specialize in one of three disciplinary areas: Teacher Education, Agricultural Communications, and Agricultural Leadership. Master’s degrees are available in Agricultural Education and Agricultural Communications. A departmental Ph.D. program allows students to focus on any of the three areas, and online Ed.D. program allows for continuing education of place-bound, mid-career professionals.
