“I’m honored to stand among a group of women who I look up to from across various sectors of the agricultural and western industries,” Williams said. “This recognition has opened doors I never imagined being able to walk through. I’m so grateful to Cowgirl magazine for this incredible recognition.”

The magazine’s editors noted in an online announcement, “Linay Williams, a wife, mother, and passionate agriculture advocate, lives with her husband and two sons in Quitaque, Texas, where they raise Angus cattle. She is dedicated to elevating agricultural and Western communities and empowering youth through her work with PanTex Buyers Group. Motivated by her faith and family, Linay is committed to preserving Western traditions for future generations.”

A 2016 Department of Agricultural Education & Communications alumna and seasoned agricultural marketer, Williams has been crucial in leading Davis College’s recent social media and website revisions, as well as developing a strategic marketing and communications plan for the fast-growing academic unit. In addition, she is co-chairing the Davis College’s Prime Marketing Campaign Committee, which has a funding goal of $250 million. The effort is part of the university’s recently launched "On & On" campaign that aims to raise $1.2 billion over eight years to enhance the institution’s national and global standing.

Prior to joining the Texas Tech staff in 2023, Williams owned Black Creek Innovations which specialized in marketing for agricultural organizations such as Purina Animal Nutrition, Cosequin Equine and Nutrition Plus. She worked with a wide range of clients within various agricultural industries including livestock production, wildlife conservation, and equine health.

The Hondo, Texas native also launched a business development organization for rural business women known as ‘Unbridled,’ and served as President of the PanTex Buyers Group, a non-profit dedicated to supporting stock show youth of the Texas Panhandle and South Plains. During her time as an undergraduate at Texas Tech, Williams participated in the horse judging, meat judging and livestock Judging teams, all while pursuing her degree in agricultural communications.
