Students and faculty from across Texas Tech's Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources were honored on Friday (May. 2) as part of its annual Honors Banquet at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center. Sponsored by the Davis College Ag Council, the annual event features a variety of honors, including selection of this year's overall Outstanding Davis College Student, Allie Herring, a senior agricultural and applied economics/ agricultural education & communications double major from Franklin, Texas.
Students with the highest academic achievement in their respective departments were:
- Agricultural & Applied Economics: Rylee Dodson and Allie Herring
- Agricultural Education & Communications: Jordan Albus, Layne Burnett, Allie Herring, Ryan Hess, Hannah Hudgens, Kaegen James, Brooke Swaffield, Blake Mills, and Jamie Sander
- Animal & Food Sciences: Karima Assal, Carys Blackmon, Maggie Chase, Elizabeth LaCroix, Rylee McKinney and May Sheffield
- Landscape Architecture: Anissa Cantu and Cason Leech
- Natural Resources Management: Daniel Ozlowski
- Plant & Soil Science: Avery Winterrowd

Separately, Ag Council leaders for the 2024-2025 were recognized. They are Jaraden Kearby, president; Rachel Bradford, vice president; Dylan Sweatt, secretary; and Garrison Haseloff, treasurer. The Outstanding Ag Council Representatives were Ashlynn Rogers (Fall) and Hunter Wernecke (Spring).
The Outstanding Agri-Techsans were Sydny Jones (1st Year Agri-Techsan) and Kaylee Hopkins (Returning Agri-Techsan). The Outstanding Ambassadors for Agriculture were Wes Shaw (1st Year Ambassador for Agriculture) and Kayleigh Griffin (Returning Ambassador for Agriculture).
The Outstanding Davis College Faculty/ Staff Members were Hannah Gauthier (Fall), Haley Hudson (Fall), Vikram Baliga (Spring) and Wendy Scott (Spring). The Club of the Semester were FarmHouse Fraternity (Fall) and Alpha Gamma Rho (spring).
The 2024-2025 Ambassadors for Agriculture officers are Kale Humphries, president; Macie Goodson, vice president; Saylor Kvalheim, secretary; Kollier Miller, treasurer; Kasey Dunn, communications & member outreach coordinator, and Anthony Vitale, graduate student outreach & mentorship coordinator; along with Ag Council Representatives Sawyer Sewell and Lily Atkinson. The club of the semester for Fall 2024 was Agri-Techsans, and the Farmhouse Fraternity for Spring 2025.
The 2024-2025 Outstanding Graduate Researcher Awards went to Alondra Cruz (Natural Science), Md Mezanur Rahman (Natural Science), Elisha Denkyirah (Social Science) and Lindsay Nakonechny (Social Science). The 2024-2025 Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher was Ahmari Henry (Natural Science}.
