With final exams just around the corner, Texas Techs Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources is offering its students a tasty incentive to stay focused. On Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m., the college will hand out free donuts at the historic Texas Tech Dairy Barn.

“This event is for our Davis College students, reminding them in a fun way to study for finals,” said Madonna Bullard, a student success specialist in Davis Colleges Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center. “Were having it a little earlier this time, so students are more prepared. Well hand out donuts until we run out.”
Alongside the donut giveaway, the center will provide academic resources and study tips to help students prepare for the end of the semester.
The initiative is part of the colleges broader effort to support academic success and student well-being. Next month, the center staff will also host Dairy Barn Open Study Days, transforming the campus landmark into a quiet study space from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The facility will be available exclusively for Davis College students on Dec. 5–6 and Dec. 8–10.
The Student Success Center team includes Maeley Stroupe (Associate Director for Student Success & Retention), Sandra Addo (Assistant Director for Recruitment & Career Development), Haley Hudson (Program Manager for Academic Student Programs), Madi Nall (Administrative Coordinator), and Brittyn LeCompte (Program Manager – College Recruiter). The group is led by Robert Cox, Davis College Associate Dean for Academic & Student Programs.
Named for longtime faculty member Dr. Bill Bennett, the center continues his legacy of student mentorship and engagement. Bennett, who joined Texas Tech in 1968 as a member of the Department of Plant & Soil Science, played a pioneering role in scholarship fundraising and in establishing student leadership initiatives such as the Ambassadors for Agriculture and Agri-Techsans programs.
