Texas Tech to Host SWAAG 2026
Please join the Geography and the Environment Program at Texas Tech University as we host the 2026 Southwest Division of the American Association of Geographers (SWAAG). Located in northwest Texas on the Llano Estacado plateau, Lubbock is a mid-size city that has a vibrant art scene, a rich cultural history, and a small-town feel.

- Hiking in the beautiful, rugged landscape of Palo Duro State Park, the second largest canyon in the U.S.
- Touring the urban landscape of the city, which was reshaped by a historic F5 tornado in 1970.
