UNDERTAKING A NEW CHALLENGE

Dear CMLL friends,

Hello, I am very happy to greet you and I hope you are very well. It has been a little over a year since I graduated from Texas Tech and a lot has changed in my life. I was working during the 2019-2020 academic year in Lakeville, Connecticut, for a very prestigious high school called The Hotchkiss School. There, I had the opportunity to teach Spanish courses, train the women's soccer team and the men's basketball team, with which I obtained very good results, as well as organizing other types of activities for the students and the community. It was a learning period, and in the end, I had the satisfaction of contributing and positively influencing the education of the young students. Although I had the option to stay in Lakeville, I decided to take a risk and look for a position at a university, according to my profile and that would allow me to grow professionally. Fortunately, I got the position I was looking for and I am very happy about it. Now, I am the director of the languages department at College of Saint Mary, a highly regarded institution in Omaha, Nebraska, known for offering bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs to women. The truth is that I have fitted in very well, being recognized as one of the best professors during the Fall 2020. So here I am, looking forward to the future with hope, and enjoying the classes I teach, both in language and literature.

I remember my days in Lubbock with a big smile and to the people who I had the opportunity to meet there. It was a great period of my life.

I send a big hug to everybody in the CMLL department, and my best wishes for the upcoming years. Guns Up!

Kind regards,
