TTU Alumnus To Receive Presidential Citation

Tracy Thomason, alumnus of Texas Tech's College of Engineering and Computer Science Department will be presented with the Presidential Citation by Toastmasters International.

Toastmasters International will grant the esteemed Presidential Citation to Tracy Thomason, a 1992 graduate of the Department of Computer Science in Texas Tech University's Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering

This prestigious accolade recognizes Thomason's remarkable dedication and service to Toastmasters, exemplifying the organization's principles and aspirations. Being the highest distinction offered by Toastmasters International, the award is given solely at the discretion of the International President. He is the second graduate from Texas Tech University, the third resident of Lubbock, and the 23 Texan to be honored with this prestigious award. 

This honor will be presented by International President Matt Kinsey during the Hall of Fame Ceremony at the Toastmasters International Convention taking place in Nassau, Bahamas, on Aug. 17, 2023.

Since joining Toastmasters in 2005, Mr. Thomason has held various leadership positions, both locally and globally, within the organization. Notably, in 2015, he assumed the role of District 23 Director, leading a committed team of volunteers to support clubs and members in New Mexico and Western Texas. In 2017, he was elected to the International Board of Directors for a two-year term, during which he contributed to policy development and strategic planning for the organization on a global scale.

In addition to his Toastmasters involvement, Mr. Thomason actively participates in multiple chapters in Lubbock, mentors emerging leaders, and presently serves on the advisory committee for the Toastmasters Board of Directors. He currently holds a position on the Board of Directors of the Lubbock Association of Realtors.
