Kirsten Kuper will serve as the Whitacre College of Engineering banner bearer for the May 2026 commencement ceremony.
Kirsten Kuper, a chemical engineering major with a minor in bioengineering will serve as the Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering banner bearer for the May 2026 commencement ceremony.
Kuper, who graduates in May 2026, is president of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers student chapter and is also involved in Raider Catholic Women of Faith and Hospital Ministry, the Texas Tech University Band and Desert Winds, and Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society.
She earned the banner bearer distinction for achieving the highest overall GPA and completing the most credit hours among her graduating engineering class.
“Our chemical engineering department and college are full of so many talented, hardworking, and accomplished people,” Kuper said. “Im very proud to represent us during the graduation ceremony.”
After graduation, Kuper will join ExxonMobil as a contact engineer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Reflecting on her time at Texas Tech, Kuper highlighted her experiences attending professional conferences through AIChE, including events in Boston, San Diego, and Monterrey, Mexico. She said the conferences allowed her to network, build professional skills, form friendships within the organization, and explore new places.
“Ive had so much fun networking, growing professionally, making friends within AIChE, and exploring the local area,” she said. “Im very grateful for all the opportunities that AIChE and the chemical engineering department have provided.”
