Gencie Houy, Ph.D.

Bio

Gencie Houy has been teaching Family and Consumer Sciences in public education for 12 years in Lubbock ISD and one year as the Career and Technical Education Specialist for the district. She has her Bachelor of Sciences in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from Texas Tech University and recently graduated with her master's degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University. Gencie recently completed a Ph.D. in Family and Consumer Sciences Education.

Gencie is happily married to her husband, Scott Houy, and has four beautiful daughters named Hattie, Elsie, Bonnie and Winnie. She is excited to be back to instruct the next generation at her alma mater, Texas Tech University!

Gencie's research focus includes all elements of educational leadership within Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
