  • Ali Luempert received GPIDEA Faculty Award for the exemplifying collaborative spirit of the alliance 
  • Christy Rogers received the Texas Tech Alumni Association New Faculty Award for 2022
  • Christy Rogers graduated as a Fellow of the Institute for Inclusive Excellence at Texas Tech University
  • Elizabeth Sharp and Dana Weiser received the 2022 COHS Faculty Award for Commitment to Outreach and Engagement. This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated innovative and/or sustained effort in the area of academic, curricular, or co-curricular service-learning/civic engagement that is specifically linked with the mission and efforts of the college.
  • Emma Willis-Grossman
    • 2022 HDFS Outstanding Senior Graduate Student Researcher Award 
    • 2022 Second Prize ($150) at the annual Graduate Research (Poster Competition) Conference at Texas Tech University in the category Humanities and Fine Arts. 
    • 2021 Recognition as an Honors Student from the National Council on Family Relations. The NCFR Honors Student Recognition program acknowledges exceptional scholarship, leadership, and community service in the field of Family Science. 
  • Parrie Liu Mashburn received 2022 Summer Thesis Award
  • Phoung Le received  Spring 2022 Arts & Sciences Students' Choice Top Faculty Member.
  • Rebecca Steinman, Dr. Christy Rogers' undergraduate research assistant, is a human sciences major who ran an independent research on Physician Assistant Motivation and Satisfaction. Her work was supported by several grants and scholarships, including: Sarah Kulkofsky Research Scholarship; TrUE Undergraduate Project Funding Award; College of Human Sciences Undergraduate Research Experience Award. Rebecca presented her research at the TTU Undergraduate Research Conference titled, ""Physician Assistant Motivation and Satisfaction, Before and After COVID-19," and won the Outstanding Student Research Award. She also presented her research at the HDFS Student Research Poster Colloquium.

Grant Funding

  • 01.19.22: SIBS Lab selected for the TrUE Transformers Award! Dr. Rogers submitted a proposal to the TrUE Transformers program, which provides funding for innovative and engaging undergraduate research activities. Her proposal, “Identifying Neurobiological Profiles of Adolescent Regulation during Family Conflict,” was selected for the TrUE Transformers Award to provide a scholarship mechanism for undergraduates to engage in research with her research lab during Summer 2022! We thank the Center for Transformative Undergraduate Experiences (TrUE) and the Helen Jones Foundation for making this opportunity possible. Click here to learn more about the program. 
  • 01.20.22: Grant funded with Dr. Rogers as a Co-Investigator! The National Natural Science Foundation of China funded a grant that Dr. Rogers will serve as a Co-Investigator on over the next three years. The proposal is titled, “The role of parenting on sibling relationship quality in the two-child family: Inter-brain synchrony in parents-child-sibling interactions,” which is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Bin-Bin Chen, who is a professor at Fudan University in the Department of Psychology in Shanghai China. Dr. Rogers is very excited to support this exciting international research endeavor!
  • 05.03.22: COHS Engaged Scholarship Collaboration Seed Grant 
  • 05.06.22: Scholarship Catalyst Program Grant, OVPR, Texas Tech University. A Pilot Study for Enhancing Nutrition and Family Resilience with Early Head Start in the COVID-19 Era (with Drs. Stephanie Shine, Conrad Lyford, Wilna Oldewage-Theron).
