Hasib Chowdhury

Hasib Chowdhury is a doctoral candidate from the department of Hospitalty and Retail Management. He is doing his dissertation on family-owned hospitality businesses in the US context. In Texas Tech University, he is working as graduate part-time instructor (GPTI). As a GPTI, he is responsible for offering course(s) for undergraduate students. He offered courses like Financial Analysis for Hospitality and Retailing (HRM-4322-001; HRM-4322-D01) for face-to-face and virtural students alongside Introduction to Sales for the Services Industry (HRM-3385-D02 & HRM-3385-DC2) virtual for Texas Tech University Lubbock and Costa Rica campus. He has been working as a graduate teaching assistant for his department since 2019 where he is responsible for grading, consulting, and preparing coursework for undergraduate students. Apart from that, he is an active member of graduate students' association of his department called Graduate Retail Hospitality Management (GRHM). As part of his commitment to Texas Tech campus and nearby community in Lubbock, he keeps himself available for various social events that are organized by Texas Tech graduate school as well as his department. He is from Bangladesh, a small but beautiful country located in southeast Asia. Prior arriving at Texas Tech, he had completed his BBA and MBA from University of Dhaka, located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, majoring in tourism and hospitality management from Faculty of Business Studies. After completion, he had four years of experience in working for BRAC- the largest and number one ranked NGO in the world. In the future, he would like to see himself as a faculty for a hospitality and tourism department in a reputed US university.
