Clara Ellison has been the Store Manager at Dillard's in Lubbock, TX since 1997.  She graduated from what is now the Retail Management Program at Texas Tech in 1979.  She immediately went to work at Sanger-Harris in Dallas as an Executive Trainee. She then got married and moved back to Lubbock in 1980 and started at Dillard's as an Area Sales Manager. She was then promoted to Assistant Manager of Merchandising and later the Assistant Manager of Operations at the Lubbock store.  In 1988 she was promoted to Store Manager of Dillard's in Salina, KS and in 1995 she was promoted to Store Manager of Dillard's in Wichita Falls, TX.

Dillard's is headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas, and has approximately 282 stores in 29 states. The Lubbock store is in the top 10 of all Dillard's stores in volume and in the top five in profit with a profit ratio of 23% to sales last year.
