Gifted & Talented Board Training
Paige Barnes and Stephanie Nations talked about how state law requires an annual Board
training for Gifted and Talented. They passed out documents outlining what Gifted
and Talented is defined as and what the Advisory Boards role is in
accountability. Those documents contained QR codes for the members to learn more about
the areas and requirements. They will be required to do a compliance report at the
end of the year and will report back those results as well.
Fall 2026 Lottery Outcomes
Dr. Bayard reported that 419 students were accepted into the school from the lottery out of over 500 applicants, 36 of which are Kindergarten. He said that they will work closely with those kindergarten students to make sure they have a successful learning experience.
STAAR/EOC Participation Rates
Keetha Chadwick reported that our goal was to reach over 95% participation in the STAAR/EOC testing and our projected participation is 97%. She talked about the added layers they did to help get the word out and to follow up with the students. It was a big win for Texas Tech K-12.
