In the May “Wherever You Are” newsletter, we told you about our teacher Jeanye Wester who was selected as a finalist in the Hospitality & Tourism category for the first eDynamic Learning Career Compass Awards. TTU K-12 leadership is thrilled to announce that Wester did win in her category!
Wester teaches child development, culinary arts, nutrition and wellness, and interpersonal studies for Texas Tech University High School.
Cari Moye, TTU K-12 principal, said, “We are thrilled to see that Mrs. Wester's work is noticed and valued among others outside of our own school. Her unwavering dedication and support to her students is honorable and we are proud of her accomplishments. She is so very deserving of this award, and we couldnt be happier to celebrate this achievement with her.”
Nominees took part in a virtual award ceremony on May 22. Wester received, among other prizes and recognition, a laptop for herself, and a $5,000 curriculum grant for the winning teacher and students at the school where they are teaching.
