Grammar: Using Sentences
Grammar: Using Sentences
We have learned that sentences are made up of subjects, or who the sentence is about, and predicates, or what the subject is doing.
If the sentence is missing a subject or predicate, it is not a complete sentence.
Example: peels an orange
If the sentence above only says peels an orange, I don’t know who peels the orange.
- This is the predicate, or the action part of the sentence.
- The sentence is missing a subject, so it is not a complete sentence.
