Descriptive Language
Yesterday we read the book Just a Dream. Take a few minutes to look back through the text to remember what happened at the beginning, middle, and end.
Descriptive language is used to make this story interesting. Descriptive language shows the reader how something looks, tastes, feels, sounds, or smells. Read page 16 of Just a Dream.
As you read, look for words or phrases that help you imagine the setting.
Remember, the setting is where the story takes place. For practice, let’s review the story by completing the Review the Focal Text handout
