Grammar: Exclamations
Every sentence begins with a capital letter. An exclamation is a sentence that shows excitement or strong feeling. It ends with an exclamation point (!).
Example: I can’t wait to see the parade!
I can tell that the sentence I can’t wait to see the parade! is an exclamation. The sentence shows excitement about the parade. It begins with a capital letter and ends with an exclamation point.
Identify out loud the sentences that are exclamations.
- Look at the fireworks! (Exclamation)
- That one scare me! (Exclamation)
- That one looks like a flower.
- Colors burst in the sky.
- Wow, what an amazing display! (Exclamation)
