RISE Modules

Texas Tech University requires incoming students to complete online prevention education through RISE. The modules cover topics including alcohol and other drugs, consent and sexual violence prevention, bystander intervention, bullying and hazing, healthy relationships and mental well-being.

RISE Modules are administered through Vector and are completed during a student's first semester at Texas Tech.

Who Needs to Complete RISE Modules?

Incoming first-year and transfer students, including distance learners, are required to complete their assigned RISE Modules during their first semester of enrollment.

Students who are assigned modules will receive an email in their TTU inbox with instructions and a completion deadline. Search your TTU email for messages from Vector if you need to locate your assignment information.

How to Complete Your Modules

1. Check your TTU email for your Vector assignment and completion deadline.
2. Log in to Vector using your TTU email and password.
3. Complete all assigned RISE Modules.
4. Save your certificates of completion for your records.

The modules typically take about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. You may complete them in multiple sessions, but all assigned modules must be finished by the deadline provided to you.

RISE Modules Holds

If you do not complete your required modules by the assigned deadline, a transcript and grade-view hold may be placed on your student account. This hold does not prevent you from registering for or attending classes.

How to Remove a RISE Modules Hold

Before requesting hold removal, you must fully complete all required RISE Modules.

1. Complete all assigned modules in Vector.
2. Save your certificates of completion.
3. Submit the RISE Modules Hold Removal Request Form and attach your certificates.

Hold removal is a manual process and may take two to five business days after a complete request is submitted.

RISE Modules FAQ

When are the modules due?

Your specific completion deadline will be included in your Vector assignment and TTU email. Complete all assigned modules by that date to avoid a hold on your account.

How do I access the modules?

You can access the modules through the link provided in your TTU email or log in directly to Vector using your TTU email and password.

Can I complete the modules over multiple sessions?

Yes. The modules typically take 1.5 to 2 hours total and may be completed over multiple sessions.

Are my survey responses private?

Survey responses collected within the modules are anonymous. RISE may receive aggregate information about the student population but cannot connect individual survey responses to a specific student. Students may also choose not to answer certain survey questions when an opt-out option is provided.

What happens if I do not complete the modules?

A transcript and grade-view hold may be placed on your student account. The hold does not prevent class registration or attendance. Complete the required modules and submit the hold removal request to have the hold reviewed.

Why does Texas Tech require RISE Modules?

RISE Modules help Texas Tech provide prevention education to incoming students on topics related to student safety, health and well-being and meet applicable federal and state requirements.
