Missed Appointment Fee

As we strive to promote good communication and reach our goal of continued commitment to provide the highest quality of care to all Texas Tech Students, we have established a Missed Appointment Fee effective January 10, 2022. 

If you are unable to keep your appointment, we ask for advanced notice of cancellation to allow us time to schedule other patients who need to be seen in that appointment slot. 

An appointment will be considered missed and a $25 fee will be charged to your Student Business Account if you:

  1. Do not show up for a scheduled appointment with a provider. 
  2. Arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment and your provider is unable to see you.
  3.  Cancel your primary care appointment less than 1 business hour prior to your scheduled time.
  4.  Cancel your mental health appointment less than 24 hours prior to your scheduled time. 

This fee will not be submitted to a health plan; it will be charged to your Student Business Account.

We will accept cancellation by the following methods:

  1. By telephone to Student Health Services at 806.743.2848 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  2. By messaging your healthcare provider through the MyTeamCare app
  3. By responding to your appointment reminder text. (Please note that appointment reminders are a courtesy and may not be sent for every appointment. You are responsible for knowing your appointment time at the time your schedule the appointment.)


You may submit an appeal request within 14 calendar days of the date the fee was applied to your Student Business Services account by submitting the Missed Appointment Fee Appeal Form.
