Texas Tech’s Ranch Horse Team placed second at the American Stock Horse Association National Collegiate Championship Show in Amarillo. During the two-day event in mid-April the Red Raiders competed against 12 colleges and more than 100 individual competitors from across the country. (more…)

A senior from Texas Tech’s Department of Agricultural Education and Communications has been selected to receive a prestigious 2012 International Broadcasters IdeaBank Scholarship. The incidence of food-borne illness in the United States dropped by nearly a quarter since the late 1990s, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Researchers found that the overall incidence of six common food-borne pathogens was 23 percent lower in 2010 than in the years between 1996 and 1998. (more…)
