A noted professor of agricultural and applied economics has been asked to join a new faculty-led Investigator Financial Disclosure Committee at Texas Tech. Thomas Knight, a Horn Professor and Emabeth Thompson Professor of Risk Management with the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, joins eight other campus experts who’ll provide guidance about policy to manage Texas Tech institutional conflicts of interest and develop and monitor management plans when a potential conflict is identified. Texas Tech received official notice today (May 25) from the State Auditor’s Office that it has met the necessary criteria and is now eligible to receive a share of the state’s National Research University Fund. Inclusion to the fund moves the university a step closer toward its ultimate goal of becoming a nationally competitive research university. (more…)

For the first time, the 2012 Texas 4-H Roundup was held in Lubbock on the Texas Tech University campus. Running from June 11-15, the meeting was the pinnacle event for Texas 4-H, drawing more than 4,000 youth and adults each year. (more…)
