Aggie of the Month: Dan Crownover

Aggie of the Month: Dan Crownover

Major: Interdisciplinary Agriculture; Classification: Junior; Age: 20; Organization: Block & Bridle; Hometown: Italy; Month: September 2012

  • Reason why you came to Texas Tech: There are two main reasons why I choose Texas Tech. First, I wanted to be part of a nationally recognize judging program. Secondly, one of my close friends was going to school here while I was trying to make my decision on where I wanted to go. He invited me to come visit and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the campus and its people.
  • Favorite Thing about Texas Tech: I think its really impressive how much we try to improve as a university in all aspects. Texas Tech is not a university that just settles for what’s already there. It puts plans and processes in place to accomplish our goals.
  • Favorite Thing about CASNR: All the opportunity that CASNR has provided me with. CASNR has enabled me to be able to travel to Costa Rica, The United Kingdom, and Australia.
  • Career Goals: After graduating I plan to pursue my master’s degree. After that, I hope to remain involved in the beef industry and I plan on working alongside my father and brother at our family business in Dallas.
  • What does the honor of being an Aggie of the Month mean to you? It’s a huge honor for me because I know the high quality of the students in CASNR. To be selected as Aggie of the Month is really special for me since I know just how many other deserving CASNR students there are.
