For the second straight year, the Texas Tech University Livestock Judging Team captured the overall title at the State Fair of Texas Collegiate Livestock Contest in Dallas. The defending national champions from Texas Tech beat Texas A&M by 11 points, 4,717 to 4,706, on the strength of first-place finishes in the sheep/goat and swine divisions while finishing second in the cattle and reasons divisions. The finish was nine points better than the team accumulated to win the event last year.
Intricate layers of rebar and reinforced forms go into place this month just outside Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Dean's Office on the northwest corner of the Goddard building. The two-story tower, scheduled for completion by the end of February, completes the exterior enhancement of CASNR's new Bayer Plant Science Building and visually ties the new and old buildings together. The tower is being built by Vaughn Construction.
