Barry was born and raised in Monroe, MI, and is a U.S. Air Force veteran. After serving 4 years as an F-15 Avionics Systems specialist, Barry returned to the midwest to complete his BBA at the University of Toledo in Ohio. During the summer of 2000, he rode a bicycle across the country with the Journey of Hope cycling team to raise money and awareness for people with disabilities. Barry has experience as a plant manager with Dietrich Industries, and also owned an insurance agency for a few years. Barry joined the CMC in 2007 as an Assistant Director and accepted the position of Director in 2012. During that time, Barry completed his M.Ed. in Higher Education at TTU. In 2013, he assumed leadership of the Center for Global Engagement after its merger with the Career Management Center. Barry married his wife, Alicia, in 2015 and they have 4 children.
