Study-abroad workshop for CASNR faculty set for March 25
College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources faculty members interested in learning more about Texas Tech University's study abroad opportunities can attend a special workshop from noon to 3 p.m. on March 25 in the Southwest Collections' Formby Room.
Officials said the meeting will be an opportunity for faculty members to learn about the nuts and bolts of taking Texas Tech students for a study abroad experience. The program will be led by Sandy Crosier, Director of Tech's Study Abroad Program and Elizabeth McDaniel, coordinator at the TTU Center Quedlinburg/Passports/ Faculty-Led Programs. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided at the start of the session.
Multiple Topics. Among the topics on tap are choosing a site, option for organizing logistics, proposal to take TTU students abroad, create a budge, and collection of monies "" account/travel application, and other paperwork "" transportation fare form & off-campus course fee form.
Other areas are coordinating board form, SACS Scholarship, financial aid, fee waivers, insurance "" student, faculty, per diem & declining balance card, voucher, colloquium/safety training, studio abroad "" student application, and emergency & liability paperwork.
According to an official with the Institute of International Education, study-abroad enrollments have more than doubled in the past decade, and American students are headed not just to traditional destinations such as Europe, but also increasingly to emerging economies such as China, India, Brazil and Argentina.
