Taylor awarded NAADA Volunteer Service Award
Longtime supporter of Texas Tech University's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Daniel Taylor of Ropesville, has been named recipient of the 2008 Volunteer Service Award from the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association. He received the honor June 17 at the organization's national conference in Kona, Hawaii.
"Dan's service has had a direct impact on the development successes of the College," said Scott Cooksey, associate vice chancellor for development with Texas Tech University System's Institutional Advancement Office. Cooksey was formerly CASNR's director of development and external relations.

The Taylors are the owners and operators of Buster's Gin in Ropesville.
Over the years Taylor has been involved in several CASNR academic and research programs, including providing cotton ginning services on numerous occasions for cotton research projects, as well as allowing classes in agricultural economics and other disciplines to visit his cotton ginning facility for a hands-on observation of the process.
Valuable Leadership. "His leadership has been valuable to the college and the community," Cooksey said. Taylor has served on the boards of the Texas FFA Foundation, Texas Cotton Ginners Association, and Plains Cotton Ginners Association.
