Agricultural Council: Will Braack named October Aggie of the Month

Name: Will Braack; Major: Plant and Soil Science; Classification: Senior; Organization: Agronomy Club; Hometown: Pilot Point; Month: October
Will Braack, a senior plant and soil sciences major from Pilot Point, has been named Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Ag Council's October Aggie of the Month. Braack said that to be recognized among the best students in the college on behalf of the Agronomy club is an honor and one of the highlights of his time at Texas Tech.
"Becoming Aggie of the Month is a huge honor when considering all of the great students there are in CASNR," Braack said. "Being able to say that I am one of the top Ag students at Tech is a great feeling and gives me even more drive to continue doing all that I can for the agriculture industry."
After graduation in December, Braack plans to move to Amarillo where he will begin running an 11,000-acre farm with intentions of soon becoming the owner.
It was his love for farming and West Texas, as well one of the leading plant and soil science departments in the nation that led Braack to choose Texas Tech. "Being the smallest college on campus, it feels like a big family and I have made many great friends in the same field," Braack said. "Working with professors and counselors is also very personal. You aren't treated like just another number in CASNR."
