Piercy takes on elevated role, while Rex joins CASNR Development staff
By: Norman Martin
CASNR's Senior Director of Development and External Relations Jane Piercy is taking on a new role as Senior Director of Gift Planning and Donor Retention,
officials with Texas Tech University System Intuitional Advancement announced today
(Sep. 8). In other action, Tanner Rex was named Assistant Director of Development for Texas Tech's College of Agricultural
Sciences and Natural Resources.
“While it's bittersweet to see Jane move into this role supporting the entire university's advancement initiatives, I take comfort in knowing that Jane will still be supporting CASNR along with her expanded responsibilities around planned giving,” said CASNR Interim Dean Cindy Akers. “Jane's service to our college spans more than 12 years, and has truly impacted our students, faculty, and staff in many positive ways.” A search for the senior director position within CASNR is now underway.
Following graduation with a bachelor's degree in management from Texas Tech's Rawls College of Business in 2018, Rex worked as a business development specialist in Austin before joining Texas Tech University Advancement in 2020, where he facilitated fundraising efforts university wide.
“It's with great anticipation that we welcome Tanner," Akers added. “He'll be an important part of our efforts to raise more financial support for our students, faculty and programs.”
One of his primary goals within CASNR to increase alumni and corporate engagement in order to build on the fundraising momentum for the college. Part of CASNR's Office of Development & Alumni Relations mission is to help individuals stay connected, informed, and involved with the CASNR community, whether that person earned an undergraduate or graduate degree, are the parent of a current student, or are simply interested in the mission of the college.
In addition to Rex, CASNR's Development and Alumni Relations office now includes Matt Williams, Associate Director of Development; Tracee Murph, Coordinator of Alumni Relations; Peggy Espinoza-Horn, Coordinator of College Development; and Madi Nall, Senior Business Assistant.
