Texas Techs Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources Advisory Board met Friday (Feb. 7) for a half-day strategic vision review and discussion sessions at the National Ranching Heritage Center. The program featured an introductory presentation by Davis College Dean Clint Krehbiel.
This was followed by a series of discussions on strategic priorities that included Associate Dean for Academic & Student Programs Robert Cox (Academic Enhancement); Associate Dean for Outreach & Engagement Erica Irlbeck (University Engagement); Senior Director of Development Matt Williams (Development, Alumni and Marketing); and Associate Dean for Research Noureddine Abidi (State and Federal Engagement).
That was followed by a presentation on artificial intelligence by Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives & Assessment Darren Hudson. The afternoon session then moved to a presentation titled “Pathways to PRIME: Innovation to Industry Summit” by Strategic Partnerships & Innovation Senior Director Cele Stone.
The Davis College Advisory Board is comprised of 24 members who represent the college's seven departments, along with the college's development and alumni relations office. While members come from varied backgrounds, all share a desire to serve the college and to further the aims and goals of the departments, he said. This, in turn, is expected to improve the resources available to Davis College and its students.

Earlier in the day college leaders held the ‘2025 Spring Faculty Assembly at the National Ranching Heritage Center. The morning program featured a prime update by Krehbiel, followed by a discussion on strategic priority working groups, and a presentation on building a Davis College philosophy for artificial intelligence in the classroom by Cox and Irlbeck. The program ended with an update on outreach & engagement as a path to promotion and tenure by Irlbeck.
