Texas Techs Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resource has been selected to receive the Office of International Affairs Campus Internationalization Award for outstanding contributions to furthering Texas Tech Universitys internationalization efforts.
The honor, accepted by Davis College Dean Clint Krehbiel, was presented at a Global Vision Awards program held on Thursday (Apr. 17) at the universitys International Cultural Center.
“Davis College is proud of our role in promoting international programs at Texas Tech,” said Darren Hudson, Davis College Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives & Assessment and the Larry Combest Endowed Chair for Agricultural Competitiveness in the Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics. “Our agricultural and resource research positively impacts food security and resource conservation globally and establishes Davis College as a global leader in agriculture, natural resources and landscapes.”
“We believe that international experiences elevate and enrich our students, build confidence and competence, and create an appreciation for their homes and communities,” he said. “Those experiences also increase our faculty understanding and foster new and creative solutions to the problems we face at home.”
According to officials with the Office of International Affairs, the campus internationalization honor recognizes a college, department, office, or unit within the Texas Tech University System committed to fostering global partnerships that embody the spirit of cooperation and dedication to create a more interconnected world aligned with Texas Tech's vision of international excellence.
The overall mission of the annual Global Vision Awards program is to celebrate the exceptional dedication of the Texas Tech faculty, staff and community partners whove made significant contributions to advancing the university's global engagement. Established in 2003, the prestigious awards recognize individuals and organizations that have played a pivotal role in enhancing Texas Tech's international presence and fostering meaningful global connections.
