Against the backdrop of the National Ranching Heritage Center, members of Texas Tech’s Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources Advisory Board convened on Thursday for a half-day session to assess the state of the college and chart its evolving priorities.

Topics included action items related to academic advancement, outreach strategies, alumni engagement, and research development at both state and federal levels. The session featured an introductory presentation by Davis College Dean Clint Krehbiel.

Contributing to the afternoon’s discussions were key college administrators, including:

  • Robert Cox | Associate Dean for Academic & Student Programs | Academic Enhancement
  • Erica Irlbeck | Associate Dean for Outreach & Engagement | University Engagement
  • Matt Williams | Senior Director of Development | Development, Alumni & Marketing
  • Darren Hudson | Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives & Assessment | State & Federal Engagement

Additionally, Hudson led a session of Davis College priorities, including a review of the college’s strategic plan and resource groups, while Irlbeck moderated a second session highlighting department, center, institute, and research, education, and outreach reports.

Krehbiel noted that the Davis College Advisory Board is comprised of 24 members who represent the college's seven departments, along with the college's development and alumni relations office. While members come from varied backgrounds, all share a desire to serve the college and to further the aims and goals of the departments, he said. This, in turn, is expected to improve the resources available to Davis College and its students.
