As the fall semester gets underway, Texas Tech’s Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources is set to welcome new and returning students with its annual Ag Fest, an early evening of community, music and opportunity designed to showcase the depth of the college’s academic and extracurricular offerings.

Scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 5:30 p.m., the event will take place at the Department of Animal & Food Sciences’ Livestock Arena. Hosted by the Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center, Ag Fest brings together dozens of student organizations under the Davis College umbrella, providing students with a firsthand look at the wide range of opportunities available. Representatives from the groups will be on hand to answer questions and connect with prospective members.

Live country-and-western music from Cross Creek Junction – a band made up of Davis College students – will set a tone for the evening, complemented by a dinner featuring hamburgers and sausage wraps.

Staff from the Student Success Center will also be present, including Maeley Stroupe, Assistant Director for Student Success & Retention; Sandra Addo, Program Manager for Career Pathways; Haley Hudson, Program Manager for Academic Student Programs; Madi Nall, Program Manager for Scholarships; Brittyn LeCompte, Program Manager-College Recruiter; and Jeanette Moya, Student Success Specialist.
