
Texas Tech has appointed Maggie Key, a graduate of its energy commerce program with deep roots in farming and ranching, as the new Assistant Director of Development in the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources. She began her role on Oct. 1, university officials announced.

“Im delighted to be back at Texas Tech, especially during this dynamic time,” Key said. “I am honored to be a part of the many exciting and impactful initiatives that are in motion at the Davis College, and grateful for the opportunity to support these efforts.”
In her position, Key will focus on expanding alumni and corporate engagement, building on the colleges recent fundraising successes.
“Part of our mission is to help individuals stay connected, informed and involved with Davis College, whether they are alumni, parents of students, or friends of the college,” said Matt Williams, the Senior Director of Development. “Maggie brings a strong work ethic, deep knowledge of the agricultural industry and an eagerness to create new fundraising opportunities. Were thrilled to have her on the team.”
A native of Gruver, a small town in the Texas Panhandle roughly 220 miles north of Lubbock, Key earned her bachelors degree in business administration with a concentration in energy commerce from Texas Techs Rawls College of Business.
She comes to Davis College after serving as a physician recruiter for Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas, one of the nations largest nonprofit healthcare systems. Her career also includes work as a mineral and surface landman in Midland.
With Keys appointment, the Davis College Development & External Relations Office now includes Williams; Tyler Schuster, Assistant Director of Development; Tracee Murph, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations; Peggy Espinoza-Horn, Business Manager; and Sydney Taylor-Ballard, Administrative & Communications Coordinator.
