Texas Techs Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources has appointed Frank Torres, a longtime information technology professional with more than two decades of experience across academic and enterprise systems, as its new IT Support Technician IV, the college announced this month.

Torres, who began his role on Thursday, Oct. 16, will be based in Davis College Deans Office, where he will work closely with the Director of the Technology Services Unit Ric Ramon, to coordinate technology support for the colleges seven departments and eight research centers and institutes.
“Working at Davis College will allow me to contribute to a mission that truly matter - empowering students and shaping the future through education,” Torres said.
In his new role, Torres will provide both technical and hands-on support for the colleges computing infrastructure, assisting faculty, staff, and students while ensuring the reliability and efficiency of critical systems.
His career has spanned a wide range of IT environments, including managing hardware and software systems, leading large-scale rollouts, and resolving complex technical issues in high-volume service settings.
Before joining Davis College, Torres served as an IT Support Senior Specialist in Texas Techs Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures, and earlier as an IT Support II professional for Texas Tech Athletics. His prior experience also includes work as a computer technician for the Plainview Independent School District and as an IT Support Analyst for Verizon Communications in Irving, Texas. Torres earned his bachelors degree in leadership studies from Texas Tech.
