Sarah Cantor is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Italian and the Italian Foundations Director at Texas Tech. She earned her PhD in Italian from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2020. Her research interests include gender and genealogy in Medieval and Renaissance literature, in particular proto-feminism in epic poetry and the reception of Dante by female authors, and second language pedagogy. At Texas Tech she teaches all levels of Italian language and currently serves as the Plains-Southwest regional representative for the American Association of Teachers of Italian.
Recent articles include “Epic Halves, Epic Doubles: Calvino, Tasso, and the Self-Reflecting Enemy” (California Italian Studies, 2023) and “Gender, Homeland, and Homecoming in Sarrocchis Scanderbeide” (Forum Italicum, 2023).
