Charles F. Winder received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Tech University in 1979 and an MBA from the University of Houston in 1983. He currently serves as the Vice President for the North America Operations of Compaq Computer.

Upon his graduation from Texas Tech University he joined American Cast Iron Pipe Company. In 1980, he went to work for Geosource Incorporated as a production supervisor; he was promoted to second shift superintendent in 1982, and in 1983 he was promoted and became the production and inventory control supervisor.

In 1984, he joined Compaq Computer as the production supervisor. Compaq Computer Corporation, a Fortune Global 200 company, was founded in 1982, and is the fifth largest computer company in the world and the largest global supplier of personal computers. He has been with Compaq for 14 years and provides leadership and direction to the North America manufacturing operations. He has held various positions within the production, planning, and material organizations, including an ex–patriot assignment in the start–up of production operations in Scotland.

In summarizing his career, it can be said that he has a proven ability in leadership, teamwork, and application of techniques and technologies of world–class manufacturing principles. He is skilled in all aspects of manufacturing start–up operations within both domestic and international arenas. His career reflects hard work, reliability, and personal commitment to his company’s business philosophy and continued growth as an industry leader worldwide in systems, technology and services.

Mr. Winder is a member of the Texas Tech University Industrial Engineering Advisory Board, and is also a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, Association of Manufacturing Excellence, American Society for Quality, and American Production and Inventory Control Society. He is currently serving on the Board of the Tomball Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Tomball United Methodist Church.

Charles F. Winder has four children: Jared, James, and twin daughters, Claire and Carly.
